John Snyder...yes! What a cool guy. First of all, his website, artistshousemusic.org is such a good idea and very useful. I will most likely use it and continue to for the rest of my career. It's cool that he's getting McNally onto his website, but for me, it sucks because everything cool happening (i.e. Ron Sobel) is happening after I leave. I just wish this was something that would have been thought of while I was still here. But maybe I will have a better rep. when I get out of here with all the incoming folk and cred than I would have...I'm right on the cusp of everything happening so I could just get lost in the whole timeline thang.

Anyway, John Snyder, unlike a few of the other speakers we've had in class, made me actually excited to go out and pursue music instead of scaring the crap out of me and wondering why I am doing music in the first place. This industry is ours for the taking. We just have to take advantage of the free opportunties out there for us "cheap folk". You bet your ass I will take advantage of it...I just recently broke down and joined Twitter. I still have no idea what to do with it/how to work it/what it's for, but he told me to, so I did. He is a pretty smart man, and by pretty, I mean VERY.

I'm excited to graduate. Bring it on real world. I'm gonna make it...I'm gonna make it far.

Oh man what can I say about Ron Sobel, but holy crap am I glad he is here!! He is someone that scares the crap out of me because he knows so much and I know so little, but also makes me really happy to know that he's on my side. I know that everyone at McNally and their mom will go to him if they need/want something for their band/solo project/career crap/etc., but it's just nice to know that there are people out there like Ron that won't completely clean you out and take all they can...he seems like he'd actually try to help you out, if he could (as long as it doesn't cost him money :)

I just like knowing that there is someone out there, who knows all you need to know, but more AND he can help/teach you what you need to know in this growing industry. With everything changing so quickly these days, its super hard (especially for me) to keep up with everything...its like, once I figure out how to do something, there is a new, better, and cheaper way to do it. It SUCKS! I just wish Ron would have been here eariler cause I'm graduating this semester and I feel like I won't get as much of an opportunity as the other students will...come on McNally!! keep doin' stuff like this!! (especially for alumni purposes :)
